| Dr. Tempesta has had extensive experience in the area of natural products and pharmaceuticals. In 1990 Dr. Tempesta co-founded Shaman Pharmaceuticals, an ethnobotanical drug discovery and development company, and was Chief Scientific Officer from March 1990 until December 1994. In 1995, Dr. Tempesta founded NatProd Consulting Services, of which he is president. NatProd provides consulting services to biotech and pharmaceutical companies.
From March 1995 until January 1997, Dr. Tempesta was Chief Science Officer of Larex, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of natural additives in the cosmetic and nutritional areas. From March 1997 to January 1999, he was Senior VP of Pharmaprint, Inc., where he was responsible for developing the Centrum Herbal line for American Home Products. He also assisted in marketing Centrum to potential customers such as CVS, Wal-Mart and Safeway.
Since 1996 until 2006, Dr. Tempesta has been Independent General Partner for Technology Funding, a venture capital fund focused on biomedical and computer technology. In 2001, Dr. Tempesta founded and became Managing Partner of Phenolics, LLC, a company that develops biologically active ingredients for the drug and consumer health care markets. Since February 2005, Dr. Tempesta has served as Treasurer of the International Organization for Chemical Sciences in Development, a non profit organization focused on advancing science in developing countries, which he has been affiliated with since 1985. |
Dr. Susan Trimbo is currently a consultant to Consumer Products companies focusing on health and nutrition. Previously, Dr. Trimbo was Senior Vice President, Scientific Affairs for General Nutrition Centers where she was involved in product safety, product development and consumer information.
Prior to joining GNC, Dr. Trimbo was Senior Director of Nutritional Sciences-Worldwide at Wyeth Consumer Healthcare. Earlier, Dr. Trimbo was involved in research and development at Clintec International, a Baxter-Nestle medical nutrition venture.
Dr. Trimbo earned her doctorate at Cornell University, concentrating in food chemistry,
nutrition and biochemistry.
She completed postdoctoral training
in the Department of Surgery at Harvard Medical School. She is a member of the American Society for Nutrition and the American Dietetic Association.

| Dr. Daugherty is currently CEO, Eleos Inc. Prior to joining Eleos, Dr. Daugherty was a management consultant assisting numerous public and private pharmaceutical, medical device and biomedical companies with strategic planning and business development serving in a variety of roles including CEO and board member of several venture capital backed start-up companies. Earlier he was a Principal with Grayson & Associates an investment banking firm.
Prior to joining Grayson he was a strategic consultant to DuPont as part of its joint ventures with ConAgra (DCV Ventures) and served as President of the ConAgra Biotech Division. Prior to his role at ConAgra, he was VP of Strategic Planning at Centennial Corporation and was CEO of Culture Technologies. Dr. Daugherty serves on the Boards of Eleos Inc., Boundary Medical, TerraPharm, Inc. and is Managing Partner of Phenolics, LLC.
Dr. Daugherty received his BA from Washington University, M.D. from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and his M.S.I.A. from Carnegie-Mellon University’ Tepper School. |
Dr. Rose is currently Director of Pharmacy, CareMore Health Plan, as well as President of the Arthritis National Research Foundation Board of Directors and has served as a director since 2001. The Arthritis Research Foundation fund youngs young investigators in the areas of Arthritis, RA, Lupus and other auto-immune diseases. Dr. Rose was born and raised in Long Beach, California, and did his undergraduate work at California State University Long Beach and earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Southern California. He began his career as a Clinical Pharmacist for various hospitals and medical groups throughout Southern California and has been Director of Pharmacy for CareMore Health Plan for over 11 years. As a member of several professional pharmacy organizations, including the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and the California Association of Physician Groups, Dr. Rose has the opportunity to interact with medical professionals in many areas related to pharmacueticals. |
